RSA launches first register of Non-Executive Directors exclusively for life sciences

RSA have launched the UK’s first register of Non-Executive Directors dedicated wholly to the life sciences.
Identifying independent, experienced and authoritative Non-Executive Directors can be a major challenge to even the most well-established pharmaceutical and life sciences companies.
RSA’s new register brings together the small, but powerful, niche community of Non-Executive Directors. The register will facilitate networking, produce research into the challenges and opportunities of Non-Executive Directorship, and place qualified individuals into Board vacancies with life sciences companies (within both the public and private sector).
RSA CEO Nick Stephens said: “Against a backdrop of increasingly stringent regulation and compliance, today’s Non-Executive Directors must work even harder to maintain their independence and successfully oversee corporate governance. While their roles have never been more critical, they have also never been more complicated.”
“The aim of our register is to work with both Non-Execs and life sciences companies to not only place the right individuals in these important oversight roles, but also to elevate the issues of importance to Non-Execs, and develop a real dialogue about how to establish oneself and achieve success in this constantly changing role. RSA’s register will be unique because it is truly global and purely related to healthcare.”
RSA’s Non-Executive Director register has already attracted over 400 members, and continues to grow. RSA will work with register members to hold regular seminars and conduct research into the issues and challenges affecting Non-Executive Directors.
